GRP and Fibreglass Components for Architectural and Construction Applications
Henleycraft has been manufacturing GRP and fibreglass components for architectural and construction applications from its Portsmouth facility since 1960. We work with architects, developers and construction companies to produce decorative fibreglass components for both new-build and refurbishment projects. Customers have included Gladman Homes, McCarthy and Stone, Castleoak, Cruden Construction, Kaam Civil and Marshalls.
Our architectural GRP work covers a broad range of applications. Rooftop and exterior features include cupolas, lantern cupolas, roof turrets, finials, louvre roof features and rooftop planters. We also produce clock faces, imitation brickwork, faux bronze commemorative plaques and monument crosses. Interior and fit-out work includes reception desks and bespoke chairs. For the construction and site sector we manufacture crane cabs, construction site signage and advertising boards.
GRP is well suited to architectural applications where complex curves, decorative detail or unusual shapes would be impractical or prohibitively expensive in traditional materials such as stone, metal or concrete. Components are manufactured with UV-resistant gelcoats and weatherproof construction for exterior use, and can be supplied in matched RAL or architect-specified colours. We offer imitation finishes replicating bronze, brick and stone effects. GRP is significantly lighter than the traditional materials it replaces, simplifying installation and reducing structural loading.
We can work from architect drawings, specification documents or early-stage concepts. Patterns are produced in our dedicated pattern shop by hand crafting, CNC routing or 3D printing, and customers can approve a prototype before committing to production. For ongoing programmes and repeat architectural components we provide reliable long-term supply.
