About Henleycraft — GRP and Fibreglass Manufacturers Since 1960

Henleycraft has been manufacturing GRP and fibreglass composite components from its Portsmouth facility since 1960. The company was founded to design and manufacture the Portafold folding caravan — Britain's first purpose-built folding caravan — for which Henleycraft held the patent. That early work established the company as a capable and innovative GRP manufacturer, and Henleycraft has been building on that foundation ever since.

Growing demand in the late 1960s led to a move into larger premises. Today, Henleycraft supplies manufacturers, OEMs, architects, developers and product designers across the UK and overseas, working across automotive, marine, industrial, architectural, leisure and prototype development sectors.

Our management team brings over 40 years of hands-on GRP manufacturing experience. When you work with Henleycraft, you deal directly with the people responsible for making your components. Every stage of the process, from initial design through to finished component, is handled under one roof. That means faster turnaround, tighter quality control and a single point of contact throughout.

How We Work

Enquiry — Get in touch by phone or email, or we can visit you. A finished drawing, a rough sketch, a physical object to copy or just an idea is enough to start the conversation.

Design and CAD — Where needed, we produce engineering drawings and 3D CAD models. We can work from your own CAD data or develop the design from scratch.

Pattern Making — Our dedicated pattern shop produces the physical pattern using hand crafting, CNC routing or 3D printing depending on the project. For complex projects a prototype can be produced for customer approval before proceeding.

Mould Manufacture — Once the pattern is approved, the production mould is manufactured in-house using high quality tooling gelcoat and resin.

Production — GRP components are produced from the mould. Parts come out of the mould finished in gelcoat — no painting required. Hardware, fixings and brackets can be fitted before despatch.

Delivery — Completed components are delivered ready to use or install.
