We were approached by a customer to produce original Motorcycle Fairings using Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP), to accurately replicate the design and fit of the original components while offering enhanced strength and durability.

Using GRP provides several advantages over traditional materials, including lightweight construction, corrosion resistance, and easy repairability. It also allows for small-batch or one-off reproductions ideal for classic motorcycle restorations, race bikes, or custom builds.

The result is a high-quality, durable replica of the original motorcycle fairings, combining authentic styling with the performance and longevity benefits of modern composite materials.

Every so often, a project comes along that reminds us why we love what we do, a challenge that blends craftsmanship, creativity, and a touch of nostalgia. Recently, we were approached with just such a request, to create a Gramophone Horn made from Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP).

The customer provided an aluminium gooseneck attachment and mould, which served as the foundation for the composite layup process. Great care was taken to ensure that a smooth, consistent finish was obtained resulting in a lightweight yet robust replica of the traditional gramophone horn, combining the vintage aesthetic of early acoustic sound devices with the structural advantages of modern composite materials.

Roof Feature

This superb Louvred Roof feature was designed from a basic line drawing supplied by our customer in our CAD modelling software. Patterns and GRP Moulds of the louvred panels and roof were produced and then manufactured of GRP parts from these moulds, this was then assembled around a timber frame and sealed against water ingress. This structure was then delivered to site and craned in place.
